Magnetic Separators

In cold rolling of steel enormous amounts of ferrous debris is generated which is washed away by the roll coolant from the strip and the roll bite. The ferrous particles if not removed will damage the rolls, produce marks on the sheet and the roll coolant itself is degraded very fast.To remove these magnetic separators are used. The Magnetic Separator is designed with a series of magnetic vertical / horizontal bars. This chain of bars is driven through a separate drive arrangement. All the bars are arranged in parallel formationcreating powerful magnetic grid through which the dirty coolant passes through. The ferrous debris a result of the rolling process, is attracted to these magnetic candles and adheres to it. . These particles are then removed by mechanical wipers and drained in to a bin by gravity. Magnetic separators are designed to suit varying tank capacities and coolant flow rates.
